I was given a task of designing 42 props (assets) to be used within a level that I will create in unreal engine. We were given a brief; the theme would be horror survival, e.g. hunted house type of level. I started off by brainstorming the theme that surrounds the haunted house idea and the type of places that could be scary. In the photo below you can see the ideas I came up with for the themes and the type of places that I thought could be linked to a horror survival After great thought, I decided to base my horror survival level in a hospital/asylum type of building. I decided to choose this theme because of the wide range of aspects I could follow within the hospital/asylum genre. E.g. wards, test labs, surgical room/equipments or something even darker! In the photo below was a quick mind map I made of the themes, props (assets) and areas that I associate with abandoned hospitals/asylums In the photo below is the list of props (assets) I am contemplating making for my horror survival level. The final digital version of all the brainstorming and mind maps combined
